Our Furry Friends in Life and Death Situations, Both Theirs and Ours

Nothing really special to put your thinking cap on today.  Just wanted to report on the special friends of ours and what effects they have on our lives.

SOUTHEAST OF MARJAH, Afghanistan (AFP) – For the US Marines patrolling the dusty footpaths of southern Afghanistan, a bomb-sniffing black Labrador can mean the difference between life and death.

These "dogs of war" have saved countless lives and their record for finding hidden explosives has won them a loyal following.

"They are 98 percent accurate. We trust these dogs more than metal detectors and mine sweepers," says handler Corporal Andrew Guzman.

then we have this story of another one of our furry friends.

SYDNEY (Reuters) – When doctors and staff realized that a cat living in a U.S. nursing home could sense when someone was going to die, the feline, Oscar, was portrayed as a furry grim reaper or four-legged angel of death.

Griper isnt it amazing with animals.. I was watching the channel My 32 last night here in Green Bay WI. Its a local channel and they were running this comercial about saving animals because they are abused and what not.. Well my husband looks at me and says if you are going to put 20.00 dollars why not put it at the local Humane Society instead of sending it to this one place with the comercial. he is right though.. These animals are amazing.. Go animals that sense things....

Your right my friend. This one doesn't strain the brain so to speak, but a great and enjoyable post.

There is a reason dogs have been considered mans most trusted friend.

As for cats... well I guess they to serve their purpose.

Makes even the objectivist wonder.

An area fellow took his dog bird hunting along the Snake River
'breaks' couple months back. Fell off a very high cliff and was killed. Search teams worked for several days until they heard barking; faithful dog had been
standing over master the whole time.

Yep animals are special! That is why I spoil mine!

Someone asked me if my well behaved dog was trained and by who?

I said yes isn't she wonderful she was trained spoiled by me!

It was one of those pet store people that can't wait to get their hands on your dog!

I say NEVER!

They can ruin a good dog too!
