A Day of Feelings, Nothing More This Day

My mother just died a couple of days ago and this be but a small tribute to the woman that bore me. I cannot say enough about how she sacrificed so much so that I may be what I am this day. She spoke not of things I should do as a man but lived a life where I knew what it meant to be as a man. I do not say "Good bye" to her for I know that she will live in my heart until the day that we will meet once more.

Within the words of those below I find the description that I can only say describes my mother perfectly.

A mother's love for her child is like nothing else in the world. It knows no law, no pity. It dares all things and crushes down remorselessly all that stands in its path.--
Agatha Christie (1890-1976), English novelist and playwright

When you are a mother, you are never really alone in your thoughts. You are connected to your child and to all those who touch your lives. A mother always has to think twice: once of herself and once for her child.--
Sophia Loren (1934- ), Italian motion-picture actor.

A mother's arms are more comforting than anyone else's.--
Princess Diana (1961-1997), Princess of Wales from 1981 to 1997

There never was a woman like her. She was gentle as a dove and brave as a lioness. The memory of my mother and her teachings were, after all, the only capital I had to start life with, and on that capital I have made my way.--
Andrew Jackson (1767-1845), seventh president of the United States (1829-1837).

If you bungle raising your children, I don't think whatever else you do well matters very much.-- Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis (1929-1994), wife of the 35th president of the United States, John Fitzgerald Kennedy.

It is not until you become a mother that your judgment slowly turns to compassion and understanding.--
Erma Bombeck (1927-1996), American newspaper columnist and author.

The strength of motherhood is greater than natural laws.--
Barbara Kingsolver (1955- ), American author.

Motherhood has a very humanizing effect. Everything gets reduced to essentials.--
Meryl Streep (1949- ), American motion-picture actor.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. Losing ones mother leaves an unreplaceable void in our hearts that was for them alone..though loving memories of them remain forever and are much comfort.

I've only just found your blog, so you are new to me. But your pain is not. My heart reaches out to you. May you find happiness and solace in your memories of your dear mother and may you one day be able to think of her with smiles instead of tears.

Dear The Griper,

I send you my most sincere condolences on the loss of you mother.

I lost my mother when I was a child, and I wrote about that loss for most of my adult life.

I extend to you my heartfelt sympathy and hope you find solace in the memories of her you hold in your heart.

What a beautiful tribute to your mother, Griper. I'm very sorry that she is gone, but you haven't lost her. As long as she's alive in your memory she's with you.

My mother died when I was seven. I can still see her in my mind. I have to because I don't even have any pictures to remember her by, but here I am in my late 60's and I can still see her sitting at the Piano as clearly as if it were just this morning.

God bless you!

Griper those are so true. I am sorry to hear you lost your mom. Its not an easy fact to face but you are also right about seeing her again sometime. Coming from someone that isnt very religious in that aspect of life either.. Take care and hugs..

Griper, I am so sorry for your loss. Just remember, when Earth loses a beautiful person, Heaven gains a beautiful soul. You will see her again, of that we can be sure.
