Thank you, mommy, for suffering through the pains of Hell that I might be born.
Thank you daddy for instilling the seed that I might be as I am.
Thank you God, for giving me to two parents that believed I have a right to life.
This I promise, this I beg,
to honor each for who you are in my tiny life.
To know the love of each so that I might love in return.
This be my prayer, this be my promise.

Beautiful. I wonder sometimes if my girls feel that way about us.. We have had such a hard time with them lately.
if you only wonder sometimes, tweety, then you know they do. they're still at an age when they are still learning about themselves and you still have a few years to cope with that yet. wait until they are teens. it will be then you'll realize that these times are a piece of cake. lol
If it is any help, I remember hating my parents when I was a teenager but leaving the house at 17 and living on my own made me appreciate them and everything they sacrificed for me. I often tell some younger people that I know that you may dislike home/your parents now but wait till you have been outside your house for a few years. You will remember how good you had it. thanks for more valuable words as always griper.
Very nice.
Absolutely beautiful, Griper! Thanks. :)
What you told Tweety is indeed true... the teenage years are tough. Somehow though, we parents manage to get through them, and with the right sort of love mixed with the right sort of discipline, the kids grow up into respecful adults who don't understand their own kids! LOL!
gayle, i believe that is called a parents revenge. lol
Thank You for this very special prayer, Griper.
I am one of the fortunate ones who sends this out not to two parents, but to four. I am adopted. And as such, I'd like to add one more prayer although in truth, both share the same meaning...Love.
I keep a photo on my wall with the following verse known as The Adoption Creed:
"Not flesh of my flesh,
Not bone of my bone,
But still, miraculously my own.
Never forget for a single minute,
You didn't grow under my heart...
But in it.
angel,
a wonderful thing that the adopted has but the biological does not have.
they can know for certain that the love that they are given by adopted parents is a love that was given out of choice. and no deeper love is there than that.
Beautiful.
I am in that phase of being exhausted by my babes, yet acutely aware of how fast they are growing up.
Bitter sweet.
